This HILARIOUS episode of InspirACTION features my mother and her friend Patti in their first Facebook group lesson.

It was a first for them, and a first for me! I spent an hour with them going through all the basics and teaching them how to use Facebook the way that I use it. They learned a lot, and I learned a lot of patience

Actually, it was a lot of fun! They were good sports and I’d definitely do it again!

Great video, Avram…and it was nice seeing your mom (and her friend). ….and how DO you remove all the “garbage” from your facebook page??? (i.e. Farmville). I tried “blocking” stuff like that from my account, but still get some of it (like Frontierville). ;o)

Well Avram…I am probably about the age of your mom…try teaching a 75 yr old parent. I actually taught my kids more about social media than vice versa..but they are a lot faster to integrate it. My eldest had FB in sleuth for years cause I had forbidden it and now that I am learning and applying some of the different marketing techniques she has totally put on her high security walls to limit my access. the little brat.
|I guess though if you are really going to live up to your tag of inspiration in action patience was a great virtue for you to add to your repertoire.

well my mum got it before I did but she has since died…it is my dad who is the challenge. He is a stone sculptor so has a creative mind not a technical one…has major mental blocks so I don't think it is going to happen even if he has a beautiful Apple collecting dust in his living room

You've got to remove each of the applications separately – eventually it gets down pretty close to zero with very minimal effort!

This is really cute. Very lovely post. I must say your mom and her friend are great learners and they were enjoying it so much and you too are a great teacher. I must admit though I am not as patient when it comes to teaching my mom about all this stuff, though she is as good a learner as your mom and her friend. Keep posting my friend, I really enjoy your posts.
