Video blogging is without a doubt one of the most attractive and magnetic ways to create a following and generate leads online.
Many people are realizing this and jumping in head first into video marketing. One of the ways people are finding the motivation to do so are through 30, 60 and even 90-day video blogging challenges.
For anyone looking to get over their initial fears of video or get used to creating them these challenges will ultimately prove productive – with one word of caution:
Everyone participating in the challenges should do so with purpose.
What do I mean by purpose? I mean the entire series should have a point. What are people going to look forward to in the next video? What can we expect from you over the next 30 days?
See the problem with these video challenges is that anyone that jumps in without thinking about the marketing could be committing personal branding suicide.
If you’re taking the time to create so many videos, you certainly want them to boost your personal brand, resonate with your following or audience and grow your following!
Remember that even though the video challenge is for you, everyone else is still watching! You want to set the precedence for all your future videos by nailing every single one of them. The only way to assure that is by establishing purpose.
The last thing you want to happen is for people to stop watching your videos after the first three, and to never watch them again.
Lets face it. The likelihood is low that you have seen all of my videos. Whats my point? I have one video to make a positive impression.
Be clear with your brand, make sure your videos are an extension of your brand and reflect your purpose.
People gravitate to those with purpose and direction.
