Commitment – What if You Did EVERYTHING You Said You’d Do?
How would your life be different, or what would your life look like if you did everything you said you were going to do?
Chances are things would be a little different, and likely in many categories, from relationships to jobs to general lifestyle.
Let’s stay focused on achievement because we all know how chaotic things would become if we acted on our impulses to negatively affect ourselves and others.
So what would happen if we kept our word 100% of the time? Whether it to ourselves or somebody else, what would be the far reaching consequences of following the warrior’s code to the T? Think about how powerful that is. You’re playing at 100%, 100% of the time, because you’re always there, always present, and always committed.
I think it’s likely that we talk to ourselves more than anybody else and we tend to break a lot of promises. Don’t you think it’s incredible that we hold everyone else accountable; and yet we let ourselves get away with so much crap? It’s unbelievable! A to-do list is written, and half of the things that *needed* to get done weren’t finished. You set a financial goal for the year and came nowhere close because you gave up halfway through. Life is about overcoming obstacles, everything else is just an excuse for not doing things.
Now what do you think the universe is thinking about you and this behavior? I make a proclamation to do x, and end up acting without intensity, falling short. Later on, I make a proclamation to do 2x (something even bigger than the first). The universe has got to be thinking to itself… “Mmmhmmm, okay Avram, we’ll see! Last time you bailed on me.” And the universe waits to see if I show up, and I don’t, so I never get paid.
When you don’t show up you’re a FLAKE. Like I mentioned, I think the person we flake on the most is ourselves. How strong do you think your relationships would be if you followed through with every commitment you made to a friend? They could always depend on you, trust you, love you, sympathize and empathize with you.
How about our financial freedom? What if every time you heard a good idea you knew would boost your business or sales success – you put it straight into action. I find the words “I’m tired” to be one of the most powerful ways for the ego to step in between people and their success. How many times have you gone to bed skipping the FIRST STEP of what could be something sooooo much bigger for you in exchange for an extra hour of sleep?
You get the idea. If it shows up in any part of our lives it will be everywhere in our lives. Words and conversations are the beginning of creation and manifestation. What’s stopping you from creating more in your life?
