The Real Definition of Disease (Dis-ease)
Often times in our life we can identify symptoms from a physical or mental state of the body that tell us we are stressed or not at ease.
The short video below describes what dis-ease looks like, and how it might come about and manifest in your life. Ever wonder why you’re always sick or tend to get hurt all the time? The truth is, often times we’re creating the stresses that cause these things to happen.
Examine how you might be putting yourself into dis-ease.
6 Ways to Move from Dis-Ease and into Ease
- Exercise – We’ve all heard it before, exercise not only de-clutters the mind and allows us to focus. It also releases natural chemicals and endorphins that allow us to unwind physically.
- Don’t overextend – A goal or challenge is meant to push you, but don’t forget that staying up those extra four hours to finish your project will deplete you. We push ourselves to grow, but it’s also important to understand you can only get so much done in a day. Relax, you’ll finish. One thing at a time. How can you expect to finish more than you’re capable?
- Meditate – What is your mind occupied with? Do you have unresolved issues? Bills, personal problems, relationship issues, etc? Discover your ability to resolve those issues and move forward with solutions one step at a time.
- Engage in Passion – Do you love to dance? Write business plans? Network with people? Whatever it is that you absolutely love, you need to be doing it at some point every day. Take a moment to recharge. Is there a correlation between the way you’ve been feeling lately and the fact you haven’t gone fishing in ages?
- Create Order – When life feels out of control you have to do anything you can to regain order. Is everything around you a mess? The clutter that’s in your car, room, or bathroom are all physical manifestations of feelings of chaos. It sounds silly, but you can take back control by becoming more organized. There’s great symbolism in the fact you haven’t “cleaned up” even if it’s just the little things… you’ll notice the physical accumulation of papers and dirty clothes.
- Resolve Differences – Many issues and stressed arise from unresolved issues we have with other people. When you harbor feelings of jealousy, hate, or anger for someone you’re essentially poisoning yourself by experiencing them. Nobody wants to feel like crap, we want to feel good about ourselves and life in general. This goes back to the meditation. Do yourself a favor and take the first step towards resolution. You’ll be surprised what forgiveness does for *healing*
What sort of strategies do you use to get back into the flow? What solutions do you employ to relieve stress and feel better about your situation?
