Why Do Some People Have it So Easy?

Do you have those friends that seem to succeed at everything they do? Things always go right for them, and things fall into place, almost like magic, every single time. Do you also have those friends where things go wrong all the time and it seems like disaster is at every turn and its “always something?”

Believe it or not there are correlations between why things work out or don’t work out for certain people. Things don’t just happen randomly as much as it might appear on the surface. We’re going to keep it simple but I want to say there are a few major factors that contribute to walking a golden path.

5 Things That Can Make Your Life Easy or Difficult

1. Attitude – You’ve heard it before, attitude is everything. But seriously, if you have a good attitude about everything, not only will things start falling into place, you’ll be able to overcome obstacles with greater ease. You know the feeling of being bogged down. Work becomes drudgery. Your attitude influences the rest of the items on this list.

2. Vision or Outlook - This is closely related to attitude in some ways because people can have a positive outlook and that greatly affects their attitude. We’re also talking about goals and aspirations though. People that know what they want, get what they want. People that have no goal in mind or are unclear about what they want  - get unclear results.

3. Beliefs - Your beliefs form the framework for how everything will exist and occur within your life. Do you ever find yourself saying stuff like “People are just out to get me” or on the other end of the spectrum, “Every day is better than yesterday?” Both of these are strong beliefs that frame or limit future experiences. You’re bound to find people who are “out to get you” with a mindset like that, and with the other statement – you’re likely to take things in greater stride because, even under interesting circumstances, you understand today will always be better than yesterday.

4. Resilience – Nothing ever happened without a little determination. People that have it made are not the people that give up and quit after experiencing some hardship. Marathon runners, mountain climbers, project managers, rescue organizations, causes and movements – you name it – individuals overcome extreme adversity and learn great lessons from their failures as well as their triumphs. Resilience allows us to go places we thought we’d never travel.

5. Growth – This is the main difference between your cousin Gus and your CEO friend who seemingly transforms everything they touch into gold. The people who appear to carry through life rather effortlessly didn’t get there without any work. As a matter of fact, they’ve slaved away (sometimes unknowingly) at changing their mindsets and beliefs, as well as hustled their way through business and other valuable experiences. Gus was hanging out on the couch while CEO Jimmy was talking deals, navigating social media, reading personal development books and traveling the world. Growth leads to abundance.

The items listed above are the first things that came to mind that differentiate individuals in terms of success or ease of lifestyle. Like in the Tao te Ching, we are constantly encouraged to flow through life. We let our attitudes, beliefs, and interpretations get in the way instead of letting them help us along.
